Who we are

Butler Privacy Project is an independent, resident-led advocacy effort. We are not a government agency and are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for Liberty Township, the Butler County Sheriff's Office, Butler County, any political party, or any camera or software company.

The nature of this content

This site is public commentary on a matter of local public concern. It combines two things: facts drawn from cited public reporting and public records, and our own opinions about policy. Statements of opinion are our views, not statements of fact. Where a question has not yet been answered by records, we label it as open rather than stating it as settled.

Accuracy and corrections

We work to be accurate and to attribute factual claims to their sources. If you believe something here is wrong or out of date, email contact@butlerprivacy.org and we will review it promptly and correct or clarify what needs it.

We ask supporters to act lawfully. Do not harass anyone, trespass, or touch, cover, disable, or interfere with any camera or public equipment. Document cameras only from public places where you have a legal right to be.
